Welcome to the blog that will help you start including people with disabilities at your school or job site.
All schools should be including all of their students, with and without disabilities. But when the school system isn't doing their job, let me help you make a difference for your students.
Hi! I am Kayla. I am a former para, former special education teacher, former education specialist and independent living specialist, now mom of 2 and your virtual inclusion specialist. At every job I had, I found ways for people with disabilities to be included in their chosen community. Isn't that what we all want?
After I completed grad school at San Francisco State University, I jumped into the education world thinking everyone wanted to include my students with disabilities. I was wrong. I ended up creating a set of slides to train general education teachers on how to be inclusive and why it is important. Which I share in my e-course (purchase here).
Prepare for a lot of resources!
After 10+ years in the classroom and working on different strategies including people with disabilities, I want to connect with you! Inclusion just needs you to keep it going but it needs a community to keep it growing. I will show you how this is possible.
