How to Dress With Comfort and Style from a Special Education Teacher

Let me be the first to say, I have become a comfort kindof gal. If my pants aren't easy to bend down in, if I have to keep fixing my shirt when I lean over, or if I am too itchy or uncomfortable, I ain't wearing it!

I am going to share some of my favorite clothes that are ALWAYS on rotation when I am in the classroom. I definitely love me some shirts with strong messages on them and will link you to any item that is still available below.

Let's break this down in categories.

1. Accessories

I love these spiral hair ties. When you just need to put your hair out of your face for an activity, these hair ties will keep you hair up and not leave a huge dent in your hair once you want it back down again.

For all of you teachers out there that are required to wear your ID badge, I strongly suggest a breakaway lanyard. This is the basic colored ones, I preferred the fun patterns like this one.

2. Shoes

When it comes to shoes in my classroom, I needed comfortable shoes that I could quickly sprint across campus in. My favorite shoes are allbird and vans slip ons. If your work requires fancier footwear, these shoes may be more up your alley.

3. Pants and Other Bottoms

Before we start here, let me say.. DO NOT WEAR SHORTS!!

Ok, now here are my favorites.

I lived in my Anthropologie pants/leggins (pictures to the right). I have them in 5 different patterns, they stayed on, they were flexible, and they do not look like leggings. Unfortunately Anthro doesn't sell them right now, but Poshmark does. They are called Anthropologie Sanctuary Leggings. If you are between two sizes, I would say size up.

If you are allowed to wear jeans at your school site, my favorite pairs are the Old Navy Rockstar Jeans or the Democracy AB Technology jeans.

So comfortable and stretchy but does not look sloppy at all.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE skirts.

I know this one is all the rage right now, and why shouldn't it be. It is adorable. Here is a flower skirt that I just love. Lastly, here is one with buttons, I love add-ons to my skirts, and the one I wear all the time is sold out, but here is the next best thing!

4. Tops

Amazon for the win with some formal tops. Button downs are so easy to style in so many different ways, so they were always worn. Here are some found on Amazon if you are looking to save a couple of bucks!

The inclusion specialist shirt is from an adorable store on etsy! Check it out here!

And of course check out the shirts I have on my website, if you need more inclusion shirts, hellloooo who doesn't!

Dresses are also a must have for me. Flowy dresses are my favorite and I always wear bike shorts underneath. These are soft and short ones that give me the confidence to run across campus while still looking cute.

Was any of this beneficial for you? Need more comfy and stylish clothes ideas?? Let me know!
